WordPress Theme: Monochrome

The Monochrome WordPress theme has a dark brown base color, and all additional colors are variations on the base color. Hence the name, Monochrome. The theme is also for small font lovers as the basic font sizes are quite small (of course, they can be adjusted easily by the end user by altering their browser’s display font size).
Monochrome supports WordPress widgets and will use the default sidebar if the plugin isn’t installed. Monochrome has been tested in the lasted (stable) version of IE and Firefox, and the (X)HTML/CSS is W3C validated.
Please be sure to read the theme use before downloading and using this theme. If you spot any bugs or have suggestions for improvement, feel free to leave a comment.

First of all, thanks a million for creating such a nice minimalistic theme!
Secondly;
I know my way around (x)html and css, but I can’t seem to find the code for the calendar in the php-jungle, hehe.
Is there a possibility to turn the calendar on or off?
Regards,
Joram

Hi Joram,
Thank you very much for the compliments.
To turn off the calendar, you’ll need to open the sidebar.php file and comment out the calendar code.
As an example, place
<!--before the wp_calendar(); tag and-->after it.Hope that helps out.

Ah, I knew it had to be something simple!
I noticed i could also remove it when I installed the widgets, which was a bit more practical. Thanks for the tip though
I usually fiddle around with themes to inplement the admin-button, but it didn’t cross my mind that I could also remove the calendar that way, hehe.
Themes like Monochrome really makes the Flickr-widget stand out in the best possible way

Hi there,
Sorry to bother you again, but i found a little quirck with Monochrome
In IE6/win and Firefox/win, the footer looks alright (right aligned, sticking to the right side of the wrapper). But on Safari (version 2 for 10.4.8), the footer is right aligned like it should, but all cropped up on the left side of the page. Would you happen to know if this is a known issue with Safari, or maybe even know a “cure” for this little hickup?
Regards,
Joram
